Wedding Wednesdays ~ Spring 2014 ~ Couture Bridal from Designer Romona Keveza!

This New York based designer has delivered a spectacular show exuding femininity and celebrating women’s beauty and style throughout the eras.

A variety of dresses ranging from the whimsically magical gowns to the high end fashion statement pieces; she turns fantasy into a reality!

Taking inspiration from the last century Romona Keveza takes us on a journey through time presenting signature pieces resonant of various decades. Here are a few of our favourites.

Her opening piece was a blush silk organza ball gown inspired by Princess Alice who she said “bucked the trend” of wearing a traditional white gown. Will you stray from the expected white dress?

This gorgeous dress has intricate beading details reflective of the Old Hollywood glamour.  From front to back your eyes are drawn into the sweet heart line and mermaid cut to the buttoning from the mid back to below the buttocks.  Hugging the figure in all the right places with an aura of sexiness and elegance, this dress definitely gets the thumbs up from us!

Moving onto the rocking 1950’s this gown below is simply pretty and girly. This strapless classic flaring out from the waist is fun and flirty!  Here Keveza has played with textures opting for a bobbly material for the dress combined with a solid belt accented with a bow to break it up and it does so perfectly!

Her collection has an array of styles to suit all brides, with a range of silhouettes, neck, and waist lines. She was also bold with her choices of materials from taffeta, silk to tulle.

Something for everyone really!

Keveza’s finale piece was something she described as “haute couture,” 100% handmade. For this dress she used fabrications never used before in bridal gowns creating this amazing gold and silver sparkly delight. However, instead of being overstated and blingy, it somehow radiates a dreamy, nude and natural look.

For more of her designs, you can check out her Legends bridal collection, which is absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth a look. Here she combines two of our favourite things; both vintage inspiration and lace, creating a plethora of wedding gowns that will make any bride feel like a princess on her big day!
